Dubai Traffic Today: Major Roads See Heavy Delays During Tuesday Morning Commute

Dubai motorists faced a difficult start to Tuesday, September 8, with heavy traffic building across several major roads during the morning rush.
Live traffic data showed congestion stretching from the Dubai–Sharjah border to Al Rashidiya, Al Barsha, Al Quoz, Jumeirah Village Circle and Motor City, with commuters advised to allow additional travel time.
## **Heavy traffic at the Dubai–Sharjah border**
One of the morning’s biggest bottlenecks was along the Dubai–Sharjah boundary.
Heavy congestion was reported on the E11 corridor around Al Khan and Al Mamzar Beach Park, affecting motorists travelling into Dubai from Sharjah.
Feeder roads through Sharjah Industrial Area, including S112 and D62, were also experiencing delays, adding to queues for cross-emirate commuters.
## **Delays from Al Rashidiya to Ras Al Khor**
Another major slowdown was reported around Al Rashidiya and Nad Al Hamar.
Traffic on D62 was moving slowly from the Dubai Festival City area towards the E44/Ras Al Khor interchange near Dubai Safari Park.
Motorists travelling towards Mirdif, Al Warqa and surrounding communities were advised to expect longer-than-usual journey times.
## **Al Barsha and Al Quoz traffic builds**
Congestion was also affecting the Al Barsha First interchange near Mall of the Emirates.
Slow-moving traffic extended along D72 towards the Al Quoz industrial areas.
Further delays were reported along the E44 around Al Quoz First and Ghadeer Al Tair, particularly near the exits towards Business Bay.
Conditions were comparatively better closer to Meydan and Nad Al Sheba.
## **JVC and Motor City commuters also affected**
Motorists travelling around Jumeirah Village Circle and Motor City were also facing delays.
Traffic was moving slowly around the D61 and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (E311) interchange in both directions.
Queues were reported extending beyond Business Park Motor City and towards Green Community, making this another significant morning pressure point.
## **Where was traffic moving better?**
Not every major Dubai road was heavily congested.
Sheikh Zayed Road through Jumeirah, Al Satwa and Za’abeel was reported to be largely free-flowing during the morning, although some congestion remained around Business Bay Metro Station and the E66/Ras Al Khor interchange.
For motorists travelling towards Downtown Dubai and Dubai Creek Harbour, these sections offered comparatively smoother conditions.
## **What should motorists do?**
Drivers travelling through the affected areas should allow extra time and check live traffic conditions before starting their journey.
Those commuting between Sharjah and Dubai should be particularly prepared for delays around Al Khan, Al Mamzar and connecting roads.
Where practical, commuters can consider Dubai Metro and other public transport options, particularly for journeys into Deira or central Dubai.
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority also provides official transport and journey-planning information through its digital services.
## **Why this matters**
Tuesday morning’s congestion shows how quickly traffic can build across Dubai when several major commuter corridors become busy simultaneously.
The Dubai–Sharjah border, D62, E44 and E311 were among the key pressure points, while parts of Sheikh Zayed Road remained comparatively clear.
For commuters still heading out, checking live navigation before leaving and allowing additional travel time could help avoid the worst of the morning delays.
