How UAE Citizens and Residents Can Sign the National Pledge Online for Free

By Chris
UAE citizens and residents can now sign the country’s new **National Pledge** online for free through a digital platform created to promote unity, belonging and appreciation for the UAE.
The initiative, known as **“Pledge and Commitment”** or **“Ahd wa Waad”**, allows people living in the UAE to digitally sign a national pledge and receive a downloadable certificate of appreciation.
The campaign was launched by **Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan**, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, and participation has now been extended online through the official platform [pledge.ae](https://pledge.ae/).
## What is the UAE National Pledge?
The UAE National Pledge is a digital initiative that invites citizens and residents to express gratitude, loyalty and belonging to the UAE and its leadership.
According to Khaleej Times, the initiative was launched by [Sandooq Al Watan](https://www.sandooqalwatan.ae/), a non-profit organisation under Erth Zayed Philanthropies, to help the UAE’s diverse community “speak with one voice in gratitude, commitment and loyalty” to the UAE President.
The initiative is built around national unity, appreciation, coexistence and shared responsibility among everyone who calls the UAE home.
## Who can sign the pledge?
Every UAE citizen and resident can take part in the initiative.
Khaleej Times reported that the pledge is open to all citizens and residents, while The National said the campaign invites the public to formally declare support for the country and its leadership.
This makes the initiative inclusive for Emiratis, expatriates, families, students, professionals and community members across the country.
## Is signing the UAE National Pledge free?
Yes, signing the pledge is completely free.
There is no fee to join the initiative, sign the pledge or download the digital certificate. Khaleej Times confirms that signing the pledge is free of cost and fully digital.
This means residents do not need to visit a government office, pay a service charge or use a third-party agent.
## How to sign the UAE National Pledge online
Residents can complete the process in a few simple steps.
First, visit the official pledge platform at [pledge.ae](https://pledge.ae/). Then select your preferred language and enter your full name. Emirates 24|7 reported that participants can optionally provide their email address, add family members if they wish, and click **“Click and Participate with Pride”** to complete the pledge.
Once the process is completed, participants receive a digital Certificate of Appreciation. The certificate can be downloaded and shared online, including in standard certificate format or social media story format.
## Can you add family members?
Yes, residents can include family members when signing the pledge.
Khaleej Times reported that participants can select the number of family members they want to add, with the platform currently allowing one individual to add up to **10 family members**.
This makes it easy for families to participate together using one submission.
## Which languages are available?
The pledge platform is multilingual, making it easier for the UAE’s diverse community to take part.
Emirates 24|7 reported that the platform is available in **12 languages**: Arabic, English, Urdu, Hindi, Malayalam, Tamil, Filipino, Bangla, Farsi, Pashto, Chinese and Punjabi.
Khaleej Times also noted that the platform supports multiple languages, including Arabic, Urdu, Bengali, Malayalam, Chinese and Filipino.
## What happens after you sign?
After signing, participants receive a digital certificate of appreciation.
The National reported that those who sign the pledge receive a certificate that can be shared and downloaded.
This certificate serves as a recognition of participation in the national initiative and can be saved or shared on social media.
## Why was the initiative launched?
The initiative was created to strengthen unity, belonging and national identity among people living in the UAE.
The National reported that the campaign is based on four pillars: promoting coexistence and unity, drawing inspiration from the President’s leadership values, strengthening civic responsibility and national identity, and expressing gratitude for the country’s stability and prosperity.
It also reflects the UAE’s wider message of tolerance, peace, security and shared responsibility.
## Why this matters
The UAE National Pledge gives residents and citizens a simple way to express appreciation for the country they live in.
For expatriates, it is a chance to recognise the UAE as a place of safety, opportunity and community. For Emiratis, it reinforces loyalty, belonging and national unity. For families, it creates a shared moment of participation in a national initiative.
Because the process is free, online and available in multiple languages, it is accessible to almost everyone living in the UAE.
