UAE motorists are waiting for the [October 2026 petrol and diesel prices](https://www.whatmatters.ae/post/uae-fuel-prices-october-2026-petrol-diesel-costs), with global oil prices remaining elevated through much of September.
The [UAE Fuel Price](https://www.whatmatters.ae/post/uae-fuel-prices-increase-decrease-july-2026-drivers) Committee normally announces the following month’s rates towards the end of the current month, with the revised prices taking effect from the first day of the new month.
In September, motorists paid AED 3.80 per litre for Super 98, AED 3.69 for Special 95, AED 3.61 for E-Plus 91 and AED 4.30 for diesel.
## **Why fuel prices could rise in October**
International oil prices remained elevated during September. Brent crude was trading around the $105-per-barrel level earlier this week, substantially higher than levels recorded earlier in 2026.
The UAE uses a monthly fuel-pricing mechanism that reflects movements in international energy markets. However, the October retail prices cannot be confirmed until the Fuel Price Committee publishes the official rates.

A 10-fils-per-litre increase, for example, adds AED 6 to the cost of filling a 60-litre tank, while a 20-fils increase adds AED 12.
