Ramadan 1448 AH is currently expected to begin on **Monday, February 8, 2027**.
Astronomical calculations indicate that the crescent marking the end of Shaban will be investigated around February 6 and 7.
According to the astronomical projections reported in the UAE, crescent visibility conditions mean Shaban is expected to complete 30 days, making February 8 the most likely first day of Ramadan.

## **Why does Ramadan move earlier every year?**
The Islamic Hijri calendar follows the lunar cycle and contains approximately 354 days, making it around 10 to 12 days shorter than the Gregorian calendar.
As a result, Ramadan moves earlier through the Gregorian calendar each year.
Over time, this means Ramadan passes through every season, from winter to summer and back again.
